Direct operated valves

Direct operated valves

incorporate a temperature sensor inside the valve, and operate independently of external power supplies.

Electrically operated valves

Electrically operated valves

are powered by an external electric actuator, with control provided by a separate electronic control unit, and temperature sensing by resistance thermometer.

Pneumatically operated valves

Pneumatically operated valves

are powered by an external pneumatic actuator, with control provided by a pneumatic controller with external temperature sensing.

Gas operated valves

Gas operated valves

are designed to control refrigerant gas pressures – and hence the temperature of refrigerated or air-conditioned areas – in marine systems in which the condenser is cooled by sea water.

Gas Turbine lubricating oil for Bratislava refinery

In 2008 a catalytic hydrocracking plant at the Slovnaft refinery in Bratislava in the Slovak Republic was being upgraded. Engineering and project managers CB&I Lummus turned to Walton for the supply of a control valve to regulate the temperature of lubricating oil to one of the plant’s gas turbines.

Walton was able to meet the demanding contractual conditions imposed by the customer. These included a comprehensive documentation package comprising O&M manual, general arrangement drawing and parts list, as well as works test certificate and full material certification for the pressure-retaining parts.

The flexibility of the Walton design enables each valve to be configured in a number of ways to suit the customer’s individual requirements; our computer aided design and drafting system allows us to document the specific configuration as-built for each project.
